Patriotic Opening Moment to Independence Day?

Awakened to the J-Crabs crouched in front of my TV, absorbing ESPN's Sportscenter. Turns out that the United States Navy was sponsoring and a commercial for the USN rolled.

In a moment where curiosity and a twinge of worry crossed paths, I asked whether either of them wanted to join the US Navy.

Jamie exclaimed, "No! I'm going to be a dad and play Backyard Baseball everyday."

Jack said, "Actually, I'd like to decelerate my life. I could be a computer geek and join the Padres Wolf-Pack. Of course, Randy Wolf will need to keep pitching here until he's over 45-years-old."

Ah, sweet ambition.

Note: Randy Wolf is a pitcher for the Padres and has a cadre of wacky male fans who don wolf masks (and occasionally, wolf suits or wolf tails) and howl every time he does well -- generally, spooking small children seated nearby and confirming their blood alcohol levels are not suitable for driving motorized equipment.
