LLGA Status Report
Her heartrate = 152. Perfect.
Fundal length (isn't nearly as "fun" as it sounds) = 34. Perfect.
My weight was 1 pound less than it was my first prenatal appointment. No edema.
Alas, Charlie had to bolt the length of the corridor to the big-screen plasma TV with Disney playing in the waiting room and refuse (most vociferously) to come back with me as a willing on-looker. So, I had sprint-walked and lifted and schlepped and wrestled a 50-pounder. What does the nurse do? Stick that blood pressure cuff smack on my arm the second I enter the room with Charlie. (Sitter's ill so he had to come along...tres bummer).
The understandable 139/58 won me a re-take (and an extra 22 minutes waiting for the doctor to return). Practicing medicine without a license by trying to articulate the virtue of that bottom number didn't work, esp. with the doctor and a practicing-doctor-to-be in the room. (Say it with me, "It's a TEACHING hospital.")
Re-take (cue that celestial theme music usually reserved for APC): 107/60. Perfect.
Pulse = 77. Perfect.
My worrier-OB doctor, who loves ordering labwork, is sending me for another thyroid panel and CBC (iron check). I've been compliant as hell with Synthroid and those bastard green iron pills and hopefully, the labs will support the reality.
Back in 2 weeks to start the weekly nonstress testing and weekly dr. visits. Tra-la.
