ER Trip (#2 of This Deployment)

Charlie had a little cough overnight. Then, whammo, at 4:30 a.m. accelerated his life - Navy-style - into croup. Pad into the bathroom to start the steam and bring him into the bathroom and see a marked* amount of dried blood on his cheek/jaw. Nope, his lips/tongue do not have evidence of being bit. This not being the croup I am comfortable with, proceeded to roust Tim and load the vehicle.

Whisked back at ER given C's still-impressive stridor in the triage area. Low-grade fever. Chest x-rays okay. Dose of Decadron (sp?) administered. Nice chat with the supervising doc who agreed that blood without reason would be concerning. Tim was a veritable superstar.

In the car heading home at 6:17 a.m. and have already cancelled Charlie's day of therapies.

On countdown to Grandma Mary Kay arriving!

* Marked as in half-dollar-sized. Frankly, at 4:30 a.m., "marked" is not a difficult plateau to reach.
