Charlie: Punk of the Year?!
In the past, in-home therapists, Pat Matt, and I sort of smirked behind our hands at Charlie's reaction ("Get out of bis house!") when he sees someone darken our doorway who is coming to make him "work" (and by work, I mean talk and take turns and play...really awful stuff!).
Today, he greeted a District employee by trying to physically propel her back out the front door. When that didn't work (physics lesson involving relative masses of objects), he ran to me and appealed, "Wet's get out of here!"
Another in a line of proud Mommy Moments.
Again, for this I endured museums...and bought said Punk-in-training a dino-on-a-stick grabber-thingie?! Thinking of my suffering led me to bring out the dino-on-a-stick and hand it dramatically over (like the keys to the Golden City of Compliance) to said District employee. Suddenly, Charlie is tractable and cooperative. A beacon of citizenship and sunshine.
Thinking it's the proverbial hybrid of the carrot or the stick...
"Carrot-on-a-stick!"
