Failtastic: The Naval Hospital Strikes Again!
Failtastic = A Fail So Epic It's Almost a Win.
Not really.
This morning began with a very sheepish (apologies to sheep everywhere) phone call from the pediatrician who saw Charlie-boy on Wednesday.
Actually, this morning began with the realization that LLGA and I accumulated a combined total of 3 hours of sleep between 9 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. A new low. GMK really didn't fare much better as there was lots of crying and pacing and fretting.
Apparently, despite my many queries since (in an effort to curtail LLGA's ingestion of the Tamiflu if a negative result of Charlie's test was reported), no one bothered to actually CHECK.
It turns out that the pediatrician (and the CQ) saw the swab taken and labeled and packaged. BUT somewhere between the Peds Clinic and the Main Lab (where swabs are gathered for courier to the county-wide testing facility for the H1N1 Influenza A virus), CHARLIE'S was "misplaced".
Kid you not. Not enough to nearly poison him (see Tylenol suppository flub in previous post) but now they're just messing with me.
Let me be clear. I have all boys out of school waiting for the "all-clear" and now we have to wait for LLGA's swab (which supposedly is at least "pending"). GMK and I are battling for Most Peevish.
-------------------------
Did receive a call after from the head of Patient Relations, assuring me that they are following up (risk managers, patient safety, accreditation folks, the "upper echelons", etc) on the 650-sub-for-120 milligrams problem.
-------------------------
Took LLGA back in for re-evaluation following some unusual side effects to the Tamiflu. Urine analysis was okay but the wheezing was not -- so she's on Albuterol and a spacer.
-------------------------
You know you're living the DREAM when you pull number 759 at the Pharmacy and they call 720 as next. Free doesn't mean without cost.

oh boy - I don't think that's the dream most of us have in mind either! Curious though, how long was the wait? I remember a ten away number being 20 minutes.
