Fish-bone to Pick with The Fishery
4:02 p.m. Saturday, May 11th:
Erin and I are turned away by 4 (four!) hostesses while 1/2 the newly-renovated restaurant tables are filled with noshing diners. (Lucky bastards!)
It turns out we missed the window for chowder; Charlie's eyeglasses were temporarily missing and we took 10-minutes to conduct a frenzied (and successful) hunt.
For the edification of local readers --
from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., You are authorized to purchase fish/seafood at the counter (to prepare yourself at home)
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.-SHARP!, You may lunch.
from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., You may have dinner.
BUT FROM 4-5 p.m., there will be no seating and they will not be that nice about it.
Review:
This local spot has been closed since January 1, 2008. It's re-opening was announced via e-mail on May 9, 2008. Enthusiastic diners eager to sample beloved favorite turned away. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Oh, well...the fish probably has high levels of mercury that I shouldn't eat now anyway. Har-humph!
