truly unacceptable -- blog-sobbing over spilt meds + first drywall hole of the New Year.

The beat went on...the toilet mishap notwithstanding, the arrival of today's mail brought a completely battered and DAMP parcel from the Pharmacy Prescription Mailing Program. Fearing anthrax (not really, but it best approximates my revulsion while nursing LLGA and having a damp-with-white-liquid package thrust at me by Jamie), I rejected it for GMK's inspection. Sure enough, 1 of the 4 bottles of liquid anticonvulsant was broken and had saturated the entire contents.

The pharmacy rep was unimpressed and suggested I come in and pick up another bottle. After more than a year of receiving this medication via USPS just fine, I noted that perhaps putting the bottles without bubblewrap and in a too-big box was not very clever and cost $$$ -- not to mention my frustration and extra run-around.

But there was more fun left in the Castle. Tim came home somewhat agitated. By the time dinner rolled around, all it took was my telling him to wash his hands and we were off to the Autism Aggression Races. Fortunately, we had an interventionist and her supervisor for Tim, me, GMK (to hold LLGA and hiss directives at J-crabs), and a respite worker to keep Charlie out of play. Nonetheless, there was drama galore and, sadly, a previously pristine wall was discovered by the offending karat-ay kicking foot. Impressively, there is a double-puncture (toe and heel) with the arch still intact. Guess my buddy Alejandro will be making a repeat visit in the near future. One of these days, they'll just issue me a bucket of spackle!
