Sequel to Jamie's medical issues

Was advised that labwork beyond a U/A would be appropriate, esp. in light of the 10% weight loss. Had to go back to the provider and inform that "first day of peds rotation" one learns to not ignore unexplained weight loss.
The resident, to her credit and my sanity, ran a bunch of panels including ones to rule out cancer -- and ran them "stat".

She called within 4-5 hours to report everything was normal -- his liver function, his thyroid, his kidneys, his glucose and electrolytes and even a couple other tests she didn't tell me about (an auto-immune one and a specific cancer-smear) all looked perfectly normal and --my word -- "boring".

I covet boring and am embracing a food diary and our inbound event harness.
