5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on ...

the ground since they'd surely fall off the ledge at the House of Job, er, I mean the settling sands of the Castle.

Jamie and I designed five (5) jack-o-lanterns within the abundant time spent in ophthalmalogy waiting room(s) earlier this week...due to unforeseen circumstances, we didn't get carving until mid-afternoon on Halloween. We had a regular assembly line going:

Step 1: Crab Queen uncorks and vanishes to perform Dairy Bar duties.
Step 2: Jamie and our beloved sitter removed the seeds, etc.
Step 3: Crab Queen emerges, only to snap a knife blade in 2...rallies and discovers the Greatest Pumpkin Carving Secret Of All Time -- that is, a short knife works WAY better for cutting designs.
Step 4: Crab Queen compels all crablets to pose with the pumpkin artist Jamie's rendering. **Tim is completely opposed to this idea. In fact, Tim is completely opposed to anything Halloween-related or otherwise, including dinner and peaceful living. After a massive tantrum in the front yard, Crab Queen -- now crabbier than ever -- insists on 2 snapshots because tantrums do not eliminate the demand that wrought it. Suffice it to say, Tim could have trick-or-treated as a wayward urban youth and I could have trick-or-treated as a bruise.**
Step 5: Crab Queen locates and inserts votive candles.
Step 6: She then goes ape-*^(# because the log lighter is on the lam, contacting GMK for a do-you-know-where survey.
Step 7: APC and Patty Jenny find alternative lighting sources.
Step 8: Bask in the compliments of jack-o-lantern envy. (Okay, that's a bit of hyperbole).

By heavens, if we're going to have the melodrama to get the photos, we're darn-skippy going to post 'em here.

Jack's pumpkin honored his new orthodontic appliances, "Brace Face".

A carving befitting "snaggletooth".

Charlie, barely out of his afternoon therapy and still sporting the World's Worst Haircut, was fascinated by the stem-plug.

Lucy's pumpkin had a heart "wah-wah" mouth. She seemed relatively non-plussed.

Sure enough, it's Baby's First Halloween.

Please note the absolute equitable photography of this blog posting.

I can *almost* hear the "word" Tim is thinking in picture two...makes me want to play the "Name Game"...

Isn't it weird how the word verification sometimes fits what you are writing about? Today's? Theatorm (theater -orium)fits nicely with reports of melodrama...
