Ahhhh, he's on the CUSP of the teen years...

Jack's headgear.

As if his hair wasn't wild enough!

Poor wittle cold babe...on the upside, she's a Daily Tea model!

No smiles today.

Attack of the Tylenol dosing dropper!

Looking a little perkier in her sleep (but more coughing) today.

Gratuitous Aunt Awesome Pix (w/ OTL* crablets)

Jamie, clutching a Goosebumps library book -- his new passion -- post collison-with-5th-grader-injury-to-elbow-and-chin-with-call-from-school-nurse (gee, he looks awful)

Charlie-boy is all hugs to APC (except when it's bedtime). Who gave him that haircut anyway?!

G.I. Ben !

The Sand Crab has been radio silent of late. He is doing well, just busy, and purportedly plans to catch up his Ramblings someday soon.

He's gotten to move about a bit and here's an action-shot as proof. (He's the guy NOT taking a picture and instead looking at the camera). It's not a bus...I believe it's a Blackhawk helicopter.

"I Love Lucy" blog: Readers' Poll

Patty Anonymous typed the following to another Patty, who is far from anonymous except in this precise post:

She's going to have to re-name her blog "I love Lucy" because she's been taking center stage recently. I know she is cute and all, but how is Ben supposed to know what's going on with the other kids? Hee hee, I'm mostly kidding. :)

Fair Patty Anonymous makes a point...I have been somewhat Lucy-centric of late. Then again, she is a novelty right now AND I spend a vast percentage of my time holding her, changing her, feeding her, and watching her (when I'm not photographing her) so that probably figures into the % of blogging.

I will try to improve upon this trend; however, should I evict the Lucy-mass-picture postings to a separate blog in order that the Castle maintains a more representative snapshot of the proceedings of all inhabitants???

Vote if you have an opinion.

Example of extraneous Lucy mentions:

"Daddy's Girl"

14 years waiting for hair accessorizing opportunities has taken its toll on my judgment and LLGA suffers the consequences. Notice that her poor neck can barely withstand the added weight of a child-safe curly clip.

Aunt Awesome walks through into the room, where I'm cooing at and giggling over and photographing the too-big ribbons in the too-fine flat-top that is LLGA's hairstyle. In a raspy, sore-throat voice, she croaks out a full sentence:
"This is soooo wrong."

And then "Poor Baby!" as she scribbled these messages to the blogosphere.

Taking the ribbing in good-natured stride, I even added the apostrophe to make sure that my persecution bore a semblance of grammatical accuracy.

Compare to early September...same outfit, same carseat. Her bigness.

Strangely, there was NO cake present.

Aunt Awesome

Aunt Patty Cake has returned for an encore performance of her award-winning role as Earthquake Retrofitter-ette to the Castle.

Despite suffering from a sinus/ear infection (thus far resistant to 5-days of antibiotics), she soldiers on to spare LLGA from unnecessary public exposure.

Look at what Herculean tasks she has knocked out:

* Waging consumer activism actions against IKEA.
* Massive clean-out of our 2 JUNK drawers. Lack of quotes--air or typed--since there was, in fact, copious quantities of bona fide JUNK.
* Taking Charlie to several (3?) doctor's appointments during his ridiculous marathon of fever and sinusitis. Included dealing with a surprise flu shot.
* Multiple Target and Von's runs (including being uniquely qualified to conduct gasoline acquisition).
* Coaching J-crabs on chores.
* Cooking up complex breakfasts for the J-crabs.
* Taking Tim & Jack this morning for Tim's fasting blood draw (checking for efficacy of seizure control, verifying no BAD side effect of another med, and oh yeah, making sure he's not diabetic) before flu shots for the 2 boys.
* Returning with Jamie this afternoon for a flu shot for him.
* Playing nursemaid to Charlie overnights (so that I could nurse LLGA in peace).
* And so much more!

All this in the absence of GMK, who has earned a 6-week hiatus (some might say "parole") home. The boys are eating a lot more "freezer food" (and fast food). I have fully resumed laundry and dish duties since Aunt Awesome has been pretty exhausted by the above items. It not pretty around the castle, but it's -- to use an icky special education term -- functional. (With some occasional dysfunctional antics thrown in for flavor).
