Witnessed in the Castle...

Grandpa Mike arrived after a day of fun-filled air travel. Luckily, he befriended a fellow traveler ("JR") during the on/off of not one, not two, but three different plane boardings for the ORD-SAN leg of his journey. (This after his worst descent --lots of lateral gusting -- "ever").

So GMK -- bedecked in a silver-snowflake red top, a wintery themed cardigan and, oh yes, a jingle-bell on a red necklace -- fetched him at the airport and then they came to the Castle to see LLGA (er, all the crablets).

We ordered China Inn (and thought of Darrin). While waiting to go fetch the take-out, Tim apparently thought we're staring at the tree we may as well have some presents. Of course, Tim being the Calendar Guru is keenly aware that we're not even at Christmas Eve yet so casting a glance around the room, he went for broke with:

(remember this is in a strangely deep, cracking, falsetto-wanna-be)

"I want a present for CHANUKAH!"

I thought immediately how Patty Xena would beam at that pronouncement.

The Sand Crab, always quicker with a one-liner, "Tim is all about double-dipping."

And for once, decent fortune cookies!

My dad's was something about being unusually prosperous in business dealings. How timely!

My mom's was about having many adventures on her journey. How fitting, given her current installation in the Castle confines.

Ben's: "YOU DESERVE RESPECT AND WILL GET IT."

Mine: "You will have full contentment by summer's end." <--I interpreted this to mean that I'd have a husband home and kids in school and, heck, a NEW HOUSE.

The poticia, APC, was divine.
