T-minus ??? to Sand Crab's Visit

If you haven't been following the muddy clawprints of the Crab's latest adventures, his latest work of fiction is to write about his plans for Great Skiing Jaunts.

While the Crab may be a strategerist, a powerpoint(TM) warrior, and (to quote His Humbleness -- GMK corrects me, His Awesomeness) "a handsome and powerful man", he checked his strategic thinking at the door when he telegraphed his demonic plot to ditch me with 5 kids and a GMK to go hit the snowy slopes. Perhaps Mr. Crab ought to have investigated the barometric pressures and chance of precipitation in the Castle before promulgating the Big Bear weather forecast!

Alas, for our perpetually myopic hero, his CR-V has been officially Queened. I don't think it will cooperatively traverse steep inclines. It knows the way to the 'Der and will sputter if not fueled with empty fast food containers at frequent and obscene intervals.

Additionally, the Crab has forgotten true Fatigue. The kind that sets in with every-three-hour/round-the-clock wakening to refuel the Princess of Roundinia (as Patty Grace has titled her). 4 o'clock departure will look less enticing than he recollects by say Day 2 -- especially after his long journey home.

The near-sighted (some might say SHORT-sighted) Crab has played his hand, er, claw-cards too soon (aka, before Christmas). If he goes to careen and bounce down the bunny slopes, a big, COLD box of air is going under the pipe-cleaner tree!
