Medical Malady Unveiled: Jamie's Eyes
Saw the ophthamologist this morning...yes, it was indeed Death by Waiting Room in that curious nesting-waiting-room experience unique to eye doctors. Lucky for me, I got a double-dose of torture as Jamie freaked out about the numbing drops, which wore my patience to Raw.
Verdict was that Jamie has the equivalent of hives on his sclera (the white part). He's on steroid eye drops for a couple of weeks to see if that improves the situation.
Naturally, any doctor giving him a reason for his discomfort and unsightliness (ha, eye pun) means -- say it with me -- an opportunity for Jamie to write a "five-star" comment card. Today's version encouraged this fine young resident with a "You have a talent as an eye doctor." And, among other glad tidings, closed with "Safe reguards (sic), Jamie".
In a splendidly ironic twist, LLGA tonight is sporting a lovely eye discharge. Probably a tear duct issue given her age and declining cold; however, wouldn't it have been lovely to have this emerge yesterday so I could go to the eye doctor and get 2 opinions from one visit?
